Product Description
Isaiah Winters, an accredited interdisciplinary photographer and educator, joins us at Nice Editions to lead a two-part monthly hands-on workshop focusing on collage and photomontage. The workshop will cover the history, the physical making, theories, and techniques of collage-- encouraging participants to think about the ways in which their photographic practices can be expanded. This workshop is a fully immersive creative outlet for participants to have fun, learn about the history and diversity of photographics practices, and create their own unique works that live exclusivley off-screen.
This is a two-day workshop that is combined into a single, one-time purchase. The first day of this program will focus on the history of collage, the ideologies that exist within it, and will begin with the cutting, sourcing, and selection of materials. The second day will be focused on hands-on making, using the previously prepared materials.
Participants are encouraged to attend both sessions, however, it is not required and ticketholders can

Materials will be provided on both days, but we ask and encourage participants to source their own materials as well.
Lab Notes
Printed materials, cutting supplies, and adhesives will be provided, however, we heavily encourage all to bring their own materials as well. This can include (but not limited to) newspaper, digital prints, posters, stickers, negatives, darkroom prints, etc., If you would like to have images printed on either 4x6 paper or larger, the option to add prints to your purchase is available for an additonal fee.
Please be prepared to be using sharp cutting tools such as Xacto blades, box cutters, and scissors.

About
Isaiah Winters is a New York–based interdisciplinary artist, photographer, educator, and Air Force veteran whose work examines nationalism, mythology, memory, and the politics of representation. Working across photography, collage, film, and archival materials, Winters merges found imagery with contemporary visual culture to explore how histories are constructed, circulated, and believed. His projects often investigate the intersections of identity, landscape, propaganda, and collective memory, inviting viewers to reconsider the narratives embedded within American culture. Winters received his MFA in Photography from Parsons School of Design and currently teaches photography at Parsons. His work has been exhibited internationally at venues including Rotterdam Photo Festival, Lincoln Center, Photoville, Penumbra Foundation, and the Pingyao International Photo Festival, and has been featured by publications and organizations including The New York Times, Google, and the U.S. National Park Service.
