Product Description

Nice Editions is honored to collaborate with Tommy Kha, one of the most celebrated photographers working today. Kha's work has been exhibited widely across the United States and internationally, at institutions including MoMA PS1, ICP, Aperture, Baxter St at the Camera Club of New York, and the Addison Gallery of American Art. His photographs have been featured in The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, and Aperture, and his acclaimed monograph Half, Full, Quarter was published by Aperture in 2023.

Tommy Kha invites members of the photographic community to participate in The Chain Letter Project, a collaborative artwork that builds on a format he has explored in previous iterations. Through a shared process of image-making and exchange, participants will contribute photographs that Kha will incorporate into an original collage-style work.

Each participant will receive a disposable camera, a development and 2k scanning credit, digitally printed copies of their photographs, and a creative prompt to guide their shooting. One or more of their images will be credited and incorporated into Tommy Kha's final artwork. The completed work, composed entirely of chromogenic prints produced by Nice Film Club, will be presented at a public exhibition and opening reception in September at Nice Editions.

The cost of participation is strictly to cover the materials and labor.

What makes this opportunity special is the chance to contribute directly to the practice of one of contemporary photography's most celebrated artists. Rather than existing as a standalone submission, each participant's perspective will become a part of a larger piece, one that could not exist without the contributions of its community.

Participants are limited to 50. By purchasing this package, participants agree to return their film by/before July 24, 2026.
